Autumn in Nursery, by Mrs Chatters

In the nursery we have been talking about the changes that have been taking place outside. We went on an Autumn walk and discovered that not only had the leaves fallen off the trees but many of them had also changed colour! We painted our own version of Gustav Klimt's Forest of Beeches, using our fingers to paint the carpet of leaves and vertical brush strokes for the tree trunks. We also did an autumn sculpture by making arrangements and patterns with natural objects that the children had found outside. Leaf printing enabled us to explore the different patterns we could make with a variety of leaves.
