How do I apply for a school or nursery place for my child?

For our 2 year old provision in Little Brown Bears please email littlebears@nevillroad-inf.stockport.sch.uk or call us on 01614394817 and ask for Little Brown Bears

 

My child is currently in another Stockport School but I would like to move them to Nevill Road, what should I do? 

You can call us on 01614394817 to check if we have space for your child's year group. If we do, you will need to complete the Stockport Admissions In Year Transfer Form, you can get this from your child's current school. 

• Part 1 should completed by the parent
• Part 2 should be completed by the current school who will then email it to us.
• Part 3 should be completed by us, who will then send the form to the Admissions Support and Advice Team

 

My child will be starting with you - what steps will you take to ensure a smooth transition? 

We can offer a settling in session for your child to come and visit and meet their new class, once they start we will ensure they have a "buddy" who can show them where things go and where to go at break and lunch time etc. Our classroom staff will also ensure they are happy and settled with little check ins throughout the day. Most children settle quickly, but if your child needs a little additional support our learning mentor, Mrs Barker, can assist.

 

My child attends the Infant School do we need to reapply when they move up to the Junior school?

No, your child automatically gets a place in the junior school once they have completed their journey with us in the infants. 

 

Do you have any transition activities in place before my child joins the junior school in Year 3? 

Yes we do! We work closely with the Junior School to ensure a smooth transition. Mrs Cliff and their new teachers will come and visit the classes here before they are invited over to the junior school for some fun activities and to see their new classrooms.
