Governors
A note from the Governors
The Governors from both schools would like to welcome you to our website. Whilst each school does have its own Governing body, we work closely together via regular meetings, to ensure that the journey of each child through our two schools is as smooth and as consistent as possible. We work together to ensure the appropriate transfer of information and joint working and training as required. We oversee together the safety and development of our shared site and its development for the benefit of all the children. We strive to ensure as much consistency as possible in terms of policy and procedure where appropriate.
Each Governing body also has the role of supporting each school in the delivery of a curriculum and environment which is focused on Early Years/Foundation stage and Key Stage 1 in the Infants and Key Stage 2 in the Juniors. The two schools, with their own dedicated Headteachers and Governing Bodies can thus focus specifically on the needs and demands of these two stages in the education of our children. The schools, we feel, offer the ‘best of both worlds’ i.e. joint working and Governance as required to ensure consistency and an exciting but sensitive transition between the two schools alongside the expertise and single minded commitment provided by both schools, to the stage at which they teach. This structure marks us out from other schools and has much to commend it as your child and the stage that they are at will be the focus of each Headteacher and Senior Management Team in each school.
Both Governing bodies take their role seriously and have equipped themselves, via training, to be a ‘critical friend’ to the Headteachers and their staff teams. We are committed to ensuring that each child reaches their potential academically and has a school experience which enriches and challenges them, keeps them safe and equips them for their educational journey in the future. The Governing Bodies are also committed to ensuring that parents and carers are involved in the learning and development of their children within our school environment.
We look forward to welcoming you to our school community, whether at the Juniors or Infants. If you wish to find out more about the schools and in particular, issues of Governance, please do not hesitate to contact one of the Chairs via the school office, where you will be given contact details or can leave a message for us to contact you.
Many thanks for the time taken to explore our site and to see what our school community is about.
